Collective Action supported locally based teams to run consultations in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, the occupied Palestinian territory, the Philippines, and Vanuatu to identify the needs and experiences of women in a range of humanitarian contexts. Collective Action integrated the findings of the qualitative research with the global evidence base to identify barriers to and opportunities for women’s leadership in humanitarian contexts, including rapid and slow onset disasters and protracted crises. In the report, we made clear recommendations for governments, UN agencies, and civil society, setting out priorities for actions and recommendations for systemic reform to deliver gender responsive humanitarian programming. The report was presented at the World Humanitarian Summit in Turkey in 2016.
